What is Counter Terrorism?

Also known as anti-terrorism, Counter Terrorism is essential especially as the UK terror risk remains at the forefront of the minds of the government and the public. But, would you know what to do if you ever found yourself in a position where a terror attack took place?

If you do not work in an industry which leaves you open to an attack, for example, security, police, etc, it may not be something you have ever considered gaining any knowledge on. First aid is always a great tool to have in your arsenal regardless as to your profession, it always helps to know how to act when someone falls ill or has an accident. Terror alerts, sadly, tend to come with the likelihood of injury to people and those first few moments can be critical.

More and more recently, the terror risk level has risen and it’s easy to become anxious about the likelihood of finding yourself in a terror alert. But there are ways you can prepare yourself for he worst.

This is where some apps on the market can come in extremely useful. One in particular, which we recommend, is called Citizen Aid. An app is usually always with you, on your mobile device. Therefore, if you find yourself in an unexpected scenario, you will have the advice offered on the app to hand. It offers great solutions to several scenarios such as, knife attacker, active shooter, vehicle attack, explosion, acid burns, unattended item and suspicious item. It is really simple to use and could save a life.

Although you may be lucky enough to never need to use these skills to react to a terror attack, it pays to gain the knowledge which could help, should you need to.
